Carmenere is another favorite wine of mine. I had my first glass 3 years ago when I traveled to Bogota, South America. I was attending a dinner party and hostess offered me a glass, absolutely delicious the actual bottle was Casillero Del Diablo. Although I was in South America when I first tasted this amazing wine.
The Carmenere originates from Chile, it is Deep purple-red in color, this Carmenere offers very expressive fruit aromas with outstanding mature berries and forest fruit joined with delicate hints of coffee and toast. On the palate, it shows notes of plums, blackberries and spice which is typical of the varietal.
The tannins are polished and long with a medium body. You probably ask what are tannins? they are, essentially, a wine's pucker power.
